KALAMAZOO, Mich. (May 1, 2009)—Pfizer Animal Genetics has
successfully completed the move of its DNA-testing facilities, Customer
Service and administration from Harahan, Louisiana, to new, custom-built
facilities in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the headquarters of Pfizer Animal
Health's Veterinary Medical Research and Development.
"Pfizer Animal
Genetics is excited about the move to its new Kalamazoo facilities, which
were custom-built for DNA-marker testing," says Nigel Evans, vice president
of Animal Genetics for Pfizer Animal Health. "The new lab operations combine
state-of-the-art equipment and a more efficient and streamlined production
flow to enhance the quality of our service and to accommodate future
growth."
This move ties Pfizer Animal Genetics closely to the Pfizer
Animal Health Veterinary Medical Research and Development center. A
multi-million-dollar expansion of the facilities, including technical
equipment upgrades, is complete.
All DNA tests are now being conducted
and analyzed at the Kalamazoo site. For more information on where samples
should be sent for future testing, visit the Testing and Results page at
